Daily Sales Workflow
A simple daily routine helps reduce mistakes and keeps billing, stock, and reporting more reliable. The exact workflow still depends on the business mode.
At the start of the day
Before sales begin, confirm:
- users can sign in correctly
- the correct branch and mode-related setup are ready
- products and prices look correct
- the receipt printer is ready
- important low-stock items are reviewed
During sales hours
Your normal workflow should be:
- create sales carefully
- confirm payment before finishing each bill
- print or share receipts when needed
- correct mistakes immediately
- report unusual issues to a manager or admin
How the routine changes by mode
Retail
Retail is the most direct flow. Staff normally search, scan, bill, take payment, and print.
Grocery
Grocery staff may also enter decimal quantities, use weighted barcodes, and watch shelf-life alerts for some goods.
Pharmacy
Pharmacy staff must check valid stock, respect expiry control, and avoid selling expired batches. FEFO selling should be followed whenever multiple valid batches exist.
Restaurant
Restaurant teams often save an order before payment is completed. Waiters, kitchen staff, and cashiers may all touch the same order through statuses such as Pending, Preparing, Ready, and Served.
At the end of the day
Owners or managers should review:
- total sales
- number of bills
- returns or cancelled sales
- stock issues noticed during the day
- any printer or system problems that need follow-up
- expiring, expired, or low-stock alerts if the mode uses them
Why this routine helps
When the sales process stays consistent, it becomes easier to trust reports, stock balances, and staff activity records.
