Branches and Workspaces
SmartBill supports one branch or multiple branches under the same business. Branches are important because operations are not always shared equally across all locations.
Why branches matter
A branch affects:
- where stock is stored
- where a sale happens
- which cash account is used
- which users can work there
- which tables are available in restaurant mode
- where production happens
- where raw materials are stored
- where asset units are assigned
Branch-specific stock
Stock is tracked by branch. The same product can have different available quantities in different branches.
Example:
- Main Branch = 50 units
- Branch 2 = 12 units
Branch transfer logic
When stock is moved between branches using transfer-style adjustment logic:
- source branch stock decreases
- destination branch stock increases
- adjustment history is recorded
This is useful for:
- branch replenishment
- moving slow stock
- balancing inventory
